Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Added Resistance in Regular Head Waves for the DTC Hull

Reducing the added resistance in waves has become a crucial aspect of today’s ship design. The is traditionally considered proportional to square wave height. However, this assumption believed be only partly valid, and further investigations are required. In present study, experimental tests numerical simulations were carried out determine regular head DTC hull (the scale factor 135). analysis was performed with SHIPFLOW 7.01, campaign ETSIN-UPM towing tank. investigation revealed that not height, better correlation obtained by changing power weight 1.75. Furthermore, an unexpected double resonance phenomenon on found at Froude number 0.13. study also acceptable agreement between experiments, except for phenomenon.
